Day 3: And We’re Back to Flat

Super flat. Mind-numbingly flat. It’s pretty nuts how boring the second part of New Mexico, and the Texas panhandle, happen to be.

Today was 652 miles of uninteresting scenery, and 652 different Christian stations explaining how I was going to hell for supporting healthcare reform.

Big thanks to everyone who called or took the time to answer my call today. It helped pass the time through a fairly sterile environment.

Fun town names: Tucumcari, El Reno (where I’m staying at the world-famous Comfort Inn), San Jon, Elk City

Time Zones Crossed: 2

Dinner I Would Never Have if Not Driving Cross-Country: 10-piece McDonald’s nuggets and a chocolate shake. I ordered like I would have at 10 years old. But it got me another 90 miles.
